Senior Software Engineer II - Engineering Experience

Wise is looking for a Senior Software Engineer II to join the Engineering Experience team, focusing on improving developer productivity. The role involves building and running tools, setting technical direction, and working directly with teams. The engineer will own agentic tooling, build an engineering knowledge base via MCP server, lead AI enablement, and remove friction across software development. The role requires strong production software experience and comfort teaching and leading change

A senior engineer comfortable in a polyglot environment (Java, Go, Python, TypeScript). Strong experience building and operating production software. Excellent software design judgement. Practical experience using agentic tools to deliver real user stories. Genuine passion for AI developer tooling. Experience building internal platforms or tooling. Experience leading large technical initiatives. Strong code review skills. Confidence explaining technical ideas to varied audiences.
