Senior / Staff Software Engineer, Fleet Management

Viam is a robotics engineering platform for configuring, controlling, and managing robots. The Fleet Management team builds the control plane for machines, including cloud systems and web applications. This Senior/Staff Engineer role involves owning systems end-to-end, from architecture to production operation, working with Golang, Svelte, Typescript, MongoDB, and gRPC. Engineers on this team build systems developers interact with directly while evolving backend architecture for real-world robot

Experience building production systems in distributed or cloud environments, designing APIs and backend services that operate reliably at scale, debugging complex distributed systems or production services, working across teams to improve shared platform capabilities, and making sound technical tradeoffs as systems evolve. Robotics or IoT experience is not required.
