About the role

The Spark Platform team at DoorDash operates the Apache Spark ecosystem at scale. As a Software Engineer, you will work on Spark runtime, multi-tenant scheduling, cluster lifecycle automation, and observability. You will partner with senior engineers and own pieces of the platform. Hybrid position in SF, Sunnyvale, Seattle, or NYC.

Requirements

B.S., M.S., or PhD in CS or equivalent. 24+ years industry experience operating production distributed systems. Experience operating Apache Spark at scale on Amazon EMR, Databricks, or in-house. Hands-on Kubernetes, batch schedulers, observability stacks, cloud environment (AWS preferred). Professional experience with Python, Go, Scala, or Java; SQL fluency. Bias toward incremental rollout. Located or willing to relocate to Bay Area, Seattle, or NYC.
