Staff Software Engineer (Calgary)

Syndio is a pay governance and compensation intelligence platform. This Staff Software Engineer role focuses on building outward-facing surfaces, internal tools and agentic solutions, with a large thrust on third-party integrations, identity and authentication services, and API design for external developers. The engineer works across teams, gathers requirements from senior leaders, and operates autonomously.

Deep experience in complex, distributed service-based systems; strong across the stack including Python, Go, Node/JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Postgres, NoSQL; serious integration experience with third-party platforms; API design for external consumers; authentication and authorization fluency (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML); testing as a first-class skill with e2e frameworks like Playwright or Cypress; strong agentic development practice; high autonomy; cross-team collaboration.
