Software Engineering Intern - Embedded Platforms (Summer 2027)

This internship is for Embedded Platforms teams at Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies, a joint venture. Interns will design, implement, and debug core software on ECUs and embedded Linux/RTOS environments, contributing to next-gen vehicle platforms. Specific projects include bringing up ECUs, implementing HALs, working on embedded Linux/Android, developing RTOS features, building security firmware, and writing automated tests.

Minimum: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program at an accredited US university; proficiency in C or C++. Preferred: Pursuing degree in CS, CE, EE or related; experience with Python, Shell, or Go; coursework in embedded software; understanding of RTOS; familiarity with embedded Linux, kernel development, automotive protocols (CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C); interest in automotive systems.
