About the role

Ripple is building the Internet of Value, moving money as fast as information. The Financial Crimes Engineering team builds and operates real-time financial crimes controls: sanctions screening, wallet risk analysis, transaction monitoring, travel rule compliance. As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll set technical direction for the compliance control plane, owning architecture for high-throughput distributed systems, real-time decisioning, and regulator-grade audit trails. Requirements

8+ years building production backend systems with deep expertise in Java/Go/Rust. Proven track record of owning architecture for complex distributed systems at scale. Ability to drive technical direction across teams. Strong resilience and distributed-systems design instincts. Excellent API design (REST/gRPC). Experience in regulated environments. Working knowledge of Kubernetes, observability, AWS. Mentoring experience. Fintech/payments/compliance experience a plus.
