Staff Backend Engineer

Monzo is a digital bank on a mission to make money work for everyone. As a Staff Backend Engineer, you will work in a squad alongside product managers, designers, and others to build and support product features. You will use Go, Cassandra, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS. This role involves collaborating across disciplines, dealing with ambiguity, and contributing to open source. The role is based in London or remotely across the UK with ad hoc meetings.

Strong backend experience, product mindset, comfort with ambiguity, interest in distributed systems, experience with strongly-typed languages like Go, Java, or Scala. No formal degree required.
