Senior Software Engineer, Core Platform

Reddit is seeking a Senior Engineer to build and scale its media platform for hundreds of millions of users. The role involves designing APIs, mentoring junior engineers, operating distributed systems, and optimizing media delivery. The team works on core systems and libraries that all engineering teams rely on.

Strong software development experience in Python, Go or similar; 5+ years with large-scale distributed systems; excellent communication; experience with GraphQL, gRPC, Thrift, Protobuf; familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP); media delivery expertise; knowledge of media processing, image formats, streaming protocols, video compression.
