About the role
Axon seeks a Senior Software Engineer II for its Real Time Operations pillar to drive architecture decisions for Vehicle Intelligence and ALPR products. The role involves designing highly-available distributed systems, building APIs and full-stack services, and collaborating with product managers and designers. The engineer will mentor peers, lead architecture design reviews, and ensure operational resilience. The position requires empathy for customers and a passion for public safety technology
Requirements
8+ years of professional software development experience. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Experience designing and delivering highly-available, scalable cloud-based systems. Backend service experience in Go, Java, Python, or similar. Frontend experience with React or Angular. SQL/NoSQL experience (MySQL, Cassandra, Elasticsearch). Proficiency with AI tools like Claude, OpenAI/Codex, Cursor.
