Principal SRE

Backblaze is seeking a Principal Site Reliability Engineer to ensure stability, scalability, and reliability of production systems. The role involves owning availability and durability, designing automation, collaborating with engineering and customers, and leading cross-functional teams. Requires 10+ years experience, strong Linux skills, and expertise in Kubernetes, Terraform, and scripting.

Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent, 10+ years in SRE/systems engineering, experience with large-scale production systems, solid Linux administration, ability to leverage AI tools, knowledge of storage systems, load balancing, security, monitoring/alerting, proficiency in Python/Bash/Go, experience with Kubernetes/Docker, Hashicorp products (Nomad, Vault, Terraform). Preferred: SaaS experience, ITIL/OSS, cloud platforms.
