About the role
Senior Software Engineer II at DigitalOcean, reporting to Mavis Franco, responsible for architecting and implementing scalable distributed control plane microservices in Go, designing gRPC interfaces, optimizing Linux kernel interactions and virtualization subsystems, mentoring engineers, and participating in on-call support. This is a hybrid role based in Seattle.
Requirements
Experience with Go, high-throughput microservices, gRPC, and building distributed control planes; experience with low-level systems engineering, Linux kernel, containerization, hypervisor virtualization; deep understanding of distributed systems principles; strong communication and mentoring skills; growth mindset.
