Staff Engineer, Network Infrastructure

This role involves designing and building network automation and orchestration systems for DigitalOcean's global network infrastructure, integrating with DPUs, SmartNICs, and programmable network devices. The engineer will develop software for provisioning, lifecycle management, telemetry, and automated remediation, and will establish technical direction and mentor engineers.

Significant experience designing production software systems at scale, strong software engineering fundamentals including distributed systems and API design, programming in Go, Python, or C++, experience with network automation and infrastructure platforms, understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, routing, switching, and network telemetry. Ability to lead ambiguous initiatives and write technical documents.
