Staff Software Engineer (Cloud and AI)

Readyset is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to build AI-native cloud infrastructure for data-intensive products. Responsibilities include designing and operating critical services, leading architectural decisions for high availability, working on distributed systems and AI features like retrieval and memory, mentoring engineers, and shaping engineering strategy. The role focuses on solving challenges in data freshness, memory design, and cost optimization.

10+ years of software engineering experience, ideally with databases or large-scale systems. Proven ability to design and run cloud services at scale with high availability (3-4 9s). Experience with AI/ML, LLM integration (retrieval, memory, agent frameworks). Expert backend development in Python, Golang, Java, Rust. Deep AWS familiarity (GCP/Azure a plus). Demonstrated technical leadership in shaping architecture and guiding teams. Mindset for velocity with engineering rigor.
