Staff Software Engineer, Service Tools

Airbnb's Service Tools team enables backend developers to develop, test, and maintain code quickly. As a Staff Engineer, you will set technical direction for developer lifecycle, including AI-assisted development, build infrastructure, testing, and codebase modernization. You will own platform-spanning workstreams, mentor engineers, and drive adoption across Airbnb.

9+ years industry experience with Bachelor's/Master's or 6+ with PhD. Proficiency in back-end languages (Java/Kotlin/Ruby/Go/C++). Experience with architectural patterns of high-scale distributed systems. Ability to influence stakeholders. Experience with build systems and large monorepos, JVM, AI-assisted development stack. Measurement instinct, mentorship, operational excellence.
