Backend Engineer, MTA

Resend is building an email platform for developers. This role is for a Backend Engineer, MTA to build and operate email transport infrastructure, including SMTP delivery, MTA systems, throttling, IP pools, bounce classification, and tools for debugging delivery issues. The role is fully remote in Americas or European time zones with some travel for off-sites. The team uses Typescript, AWS, Go, Postgres, Datadog.

Strong backend engineering experience with email, messaging, or high-volume delivery systems. Understanding of queues, workers, retries, idempotency, rate limits, backpressure, and distributed systems. Experience or strong interest in SMTP, MTAs, DNS, bounces, IP pools. Care about reliability and observability. Low ego, high ownership. Experience with Typescript and Golang.
