Software Engineer, Storage - Distributed Caching

The Distributed Caching team owns ElastiCache, Boulder, Entity Cache, and the Distributed Lock Service. This role drives Boulder's evolution for scale and cost efficiency, re-platforms the lock service, builds self-serve tooling, and works on cache invalidation, replication, sharding, compaction, and failover. Hybrid role requiring location in SF, Seattle, or NYC.

Minimum 6+ years experience building and operating distributed stateful systems in production, with 2+ years in caching or key-value storage at scale. Proficiency in Go, Java, or Kotlin with deep distributed systems knowledge. Hands-on experience with Redis, Valkey, or Memcached. Understand consistency models, sharding, replication, consensus. Experience with capacity planning. Proficient in AI coding tools. Preferred: ElastiCache, KVRocks, RocksDB, Kubernetes, distributed lock service.
