Senior Software Engineer - Open Source (RD217)

Defense Unicorns is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to work on open source cloud native software, collaborating with product managers, designers, and community contributors. The role involves leading design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud native software, with strong Golang experience and willingness to learn TypeScript. Responsibilities include engaging with open source communities, delivering mission-focused user experience, and owning architecture decisions.

5+ years software engineering experience, experience with open source tools, proficient in Go, interest in TypeScript and Rust, strong understanding of system design, Kubernetes, cloud architecture (AWS, Azure), experience contributing to open source communities (CNCF, ASF, OpenSSF a plus), familiar with Kubernetes controllers/operators/CRDs, strong communication skills.
