Backend Engineer - API

SpaceXAI's mission is to create AI systems that understand the universe. The team is small, flat, and focused on engineering excellence. The Backend Engineer will build the SpaceXAI API serving models worldwide, own end-to-end high-throughput inference system handling billions of tokens per minute with low latency and high availability, including model serving, routing, SDK development, rate limiting, observability, and scaling.

Expert knowledge of Rust or C++, experience designing reliable distributed systems, knowledge of observability and reliability, experience with databases like PostgreSQL, Clickhouse, MongoDB. Preferred: experience with LLM inference engines (SGLang, TensorRT, vLLM), agent SDKs, Docker/Kubernetes, gRPC.
