Staff Backend Engineer

HelloFresh seeks a Staff Backend Engineer for their Ingredient to Product tribe. This individual contributor role bridges Food Systems and Backend Engineering, designing scalable infrastructure, translating business needs into solutions, driving API and system design best practices, leading cross-squad initiatives, and mentoring engineers. Requires strong backend experience with Python, Kotlin, GoLang, Docker, Kubernetes, distributed systems.

8+ years of backend engineering experience, strong foundation in Python, Kotlin, GoLang; proven track record in architectural decisions for large-scale distributed systems; advanced experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native architectures; deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, microservices; strong cross-team collaboration; meaningful experience using AI coding agents; collaborative, low-ego approach.
