Staff Backend Product Engineer, Operations Technology

HelloFresh seeks a Staff Backend Engineer to join the Ingredient to Product tribe. This high-impact individual contributor role bridges Food Systems and Backend Engineering, designing scalable infrastructure for menu operations and leading backend-heavy product problems. The engineer will work across squads, raise the technical bar, and accelerate value delivery. The role emphasizes product engineering ownership, using AI as a force multiplier.

Hands-on experience with AI tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) beyond casual experimentation. Strong fluency in Python (Golang a plus) and experience building distributed systems in production: event-driven flows, service contracts, partial failure. Full ownership mindset, bias to ship, product sense backed by data and user evidence.
