Senior Software Engineer, Application Security

Box is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Application Security team to design, build, and operate production-grade security services and automation. The role involves building end-to-end applications, security tools, and developer guardrails to protect Box's platform. The engineer will work on AI security controls, CI/CD integration, and collaborate with product teams. Requires 4+ years of software development experience and a foundational understanding of security concepts.

4+ years of software development experience in Java, Python, PHP, Go, or Scala. Proven ability to build end-to-end applications with solid database, framework, and API design skills. Strong fundamentals in OOP, system architecture, testing, and code quality. Foundational security knowledge and passion for solving security challenges. Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent. Preferred: distributed systems, Java Spring, cloud platforms, AI/ML.
