About the role
DoorDash's Storage organization seeks a Staff Software Engineer to own the reliability, performance, and correctness of the storage abstraction platform at scale. This unified data-access layer decouples applications from databases. The role involves setting technical direction, working on data-plane problems (latency, routing, failure isolation), shaping client surfaces, and mentoring engineers.
Requirements
10+ years in large-scale distributed systems, deep expertise in Tier 0 storage (distributed KV, databases, caching). Experience with storage abstraction layers or data gateways. Low-latency, high-throughput system expertise. Strong Go production experience. Grasp of MVCC, GC, consistency, replication, CDC. Proven Tier 0 service ownership. Staff-level technical leadership. Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure. Proficiency with AI coding tools.
