Sr. Staff Observability Software Engineer

The Sr. Staff Observability Software Engineer at Coupang will build and maintain monitoring, alerting, logging, and tracing solutions for hyper-scale systems. The role involves designing observability platforms using Kubernetes and OSS, collaborating with engineering teams, defining KPIs and SLOs, and driving standardization. The team aims to provide clear visibility into system health and reliability.

Bachelor's degree in CS or related field, 8+ years in large-scale distributed systems, strong experience with observability tools (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic stack). Preferred: containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), APM tools (Dynatrace, AppDynamics), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), programming (Go, Java, Python, Ruby), distributed tracing (Jaeger, Zipkin), DevOps/SRE practices, and proven project leadership.
