Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Samsara seeks a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to build resilient, low-latency ML backend systems for Safety AI dash cameras. The role involves designing production ML APIs, building data flywheels, optimizing model serving, and monitoring rollout health. Collaborate with applied scientists, firmware engineers, and product managers to ship cloud-scale safety features that improve driver safety.

Minimum 6+ years as ML engineer, strong proficiency in C++, Go, Java, Python, Scala, and tools like Ray, MLflow, Grafana, PyTorch, Spark. Experience deploying models with customer feedback, full-stack/backend skills, BS/MS in CS or quantitative field. Preferred: PhD in CS or quantitative field, experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure), end-to-end ML in safety-critical domains, GPU optimization.
