Manager – Engineering

The Manager, Engineering leads a team of engineers designing, building, and maintaining services for Tucows Domains platforms. This hands-on role combines technical leadership, people management, and engineering execution. Responsibilities include architecture decisions, code reviews, incident response, and improving engineering practices. The role works closely with Product, Operations, QA, Design, and other teams to deliver reliable, scalable systems. This is a remote position for applicants.

Bachelor's degree in CS or related field, 6+ years software engineering experience with backend development, 2+ years engineering management, strong experience with Python/Go, RESTful APIs, PostgreSQL, and modern development practices. Experience with AI-assisted tools, automated testing, CI/CD, and incident response. Preferred: event-driven architectures, DNS protocols, cloud platforms, and API security.
