Software Engineer, Agent Systems

As a Software Engineer, Agent Systems at Serval, you'll build the core systems powering AI agents: orchestration engine, runtime, retrieval and grounding systems, and evaluation infrastructure. You'll design the agentic loop, improve retrieval, build evaluation frameworks, and partner with product to bring agent capabilities to customer workflows. This role is key to defining how agents behave across help desk, automation, and knowledge workflows.

Strong software engineering fundamentals with production-grade systems experience. 4+ years building software products. Experience with AI-powered systems, agent frameworks, or LLM applications. Ability to design reliable, scalable systems. Excitement for AI products. High agency in fast-paced environment. Strong communication. Degree in CS or equivalent. Preferred: retrieval systems, Go/TypeScript, early-stage startup experience.
