About the role

Peregrine is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Traffic to design and build software-defined networking capabilities for secure, reliable, and scalable communication. The role involves working across cloud and Kubernetes networking, service-to-service communication, traffic management, routing, and observability, building control planes and automation systems.

Requirements

9+ years of experience in software, infrastructure, or network engineering. Strong programming skills in Python or Go. Deep understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, DNS, load balancing, NAT, VPNs). Experience with cloud and Kubernetes networking (VPCs, service mesh, CNI). Experience building distributed systems or networking infrastructure. Strong debugging skills. Ability to drive technical direction. Must be based in SF, DC, or NYC and work in-office.
