Senior Backend Engineer, Security

Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company seeking a passionate Senior Backend Engineer for its commercialization team. The role involves building and evolving mission-critical tools and systems for fleet management, collaborating with product, security, and engineering teams to solve real-world problems like vehicle configuration and secure transactions.

BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, 7+ years of backend/infra experience, strong knowledge of security concepts including encryption, authentication, identity, secure communication, and access control. Preferred experience with compiled languages (C++, Java, Go), microservices, PKI, HSM, and cryptography.
