About the role

Appian is hiring an AI Security Engineer to join the Information Security team at its McLean, VA headquarters. The role involves building and deploying autonomous AI agents for SOC operations, integrating with security stack, optimizing RAG pipelines, and implementing security around LLM architecture. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in CS/AI/related and programming experience in Python/Go/Scala/Java. The role is on-site 5 days/week.

Requirements

Bachelor's in CS/AI/related + 2 years AI/ML experience or Master's + 1 year; at least 2 years programming in Python, Go, Scala, or Java; experience building production-grade asynchronous code; understanding of AI security; comfortable with ambiguity. Preferred: 3 years cloud AI deployment, experience with multi-agent systems (LangChain etc.), vector databases, containerized environments.
